Productivity
Exams, assignments, essays, meeting friends, working out, washing clothes… Too much on your plate? Basic study techniques help you organize your day and study productively.
Did you know that our brain also processes things when we take breaks? So, no shame in taking some time off, especially when you’ve a lot on your list. If you find it difficult to take breaks as part of your daily routine, try using a timer to remind you when you deserve a break.
Top 3 productivity tips
- Take care of yourself!
- Eat healthy, work out, get enough sleep, do things you like to recharge your energy, and learn to say “no”.
- Prioritize!
- Make a list of the tasks you have to do.
- Put them in an order from very important to less important.
- Start working on the most important part.
- If you’re stuck, you’re allowed to work on another task that might be easier right then to keep the workflow going.
- When you’re studying, get off social media, set time limits, and take breaks!
- Try to do as much as you can within a limited period. Use, for example, the Pomodoro Technique and divide your working time into working phases and breaks:
- Step 1: Decide what you want to work on
- Step 2: Work for 25 minutes
- Step 3: Take a 5 minute break
- Repeat step 2-3 three more times and take a long break (15-30 minutes) before you start over
- If you find it difficult to work efficiently on your own, start a study group to motivate each other.
